How Does the Law Affect Healthcare?

There is no doubt that healthcare-related regulations are the reason why we have had so many changes happening in the healthcare industry over the years. The introduction of the Affordable Care Act, for example, has allowed more than 20 million US citizens to get proper health insurance coverage for free. Future changes may transform the landscape once again.

Changes to the healthcare landscape are not only caused by big and popular laws such as ACA, though. According to studies complied by Hofstra Law and its health law degree programs, there are a number of notable regulations that have changed the way things are done in the healthcare industry. The introduction of medical marijuana back in 2009, for example, led to a staggering increase of medical marijuana usage in several states.

You can find out more about how the law affects our healthcare system by reading the full infographic, How Health Law and Policy Changes Affect Public Consumption Habits.
